Design Guidelines for WJP Full-Color 3D Printing Products
Design Guidelines for WJP Full-Color 3D Printing Products
Type | Material | Maximum Print Size (L*W*H) MM | Minimum Print Size (L*W*H) MM | Print Accuracy |
Full-Color | Color Resin | 390x340x240 | 5x5x5 | ±0.2MM within 0.3% |
1. Minimum Wall Thickness Requirements for Different Materials
Range | 5x5mm | 10x10mm | 50x50mm | 100x100mm | 200x200mm |
Minimum Wall Thickness | 1mm | 1mm | 1.5mm | 2mm | 3mm |
2. Requirements for Embossed and Engraved Text
2.1 Engraved/Embossed Text Design
Material | Full-Color | Full-Color Spray Paint |
Minimum Stroke Width | 0.8MM | 2MM |
Minimum Stroke Depth | 0.8MM | 2MM |
2.2 Text Design with Color Mapping
Material | Full-Color | Full-Color Spray Paint |
Minimum Stroke Width | 0.4MM | 0.4MM |
3. Thread Design Requirements
Pitch: 1.5MM
Thread Angle: 60 degrees
4. Model Clearance
4.1 Assembly Clearance
Material | Full-Color |
Minimum Clearance | 0.2MM |
4.2 Clearance for Movable Models
Currently only supports semi-open and fully open types.
Material | Full-Color |
Minimum Movable Clearance | 1.5MM |
5. Hollow Design
Full-Color does not support hollow designs. Hollow parts will cause support removal issues, leading to poor part quality.
6. Micro Hole Depth Design Requirements
Hole Diameter (D) to Depth (H) Relationship
Hole Diameter | Diameter = 1.0MM | Diameter = 1.5MM | Diameter = 2.0MM |
Hole Depth | H=2MM | H=2-4MM | H=3-5MM |
For spray-painted parts, the hole diameter needs to be more than 2MM.
Tolerance for Full-Color Resin: ±0.2MM, full-color printed hole error within ±0.1MM-±0.2MM.
7. Small Pillar Design Requirements
Relationship between Pillar Diameter (D) and Height (H)
Diameter | D=1.0MM | D=2.0MM | D=3.0MM |
Height | H=1.0-2.0MM | H=2.0-4.0MM | H=3.0-5.0MM |
8. Irregular Parts
Full-color irregular parts require transparent full wrap printing, minimum transparent material wrapping color printing thickness 0.05MM
9. Accuracy Knowledge (Non-deformation, Unpainted)
Full-Color Resin Accuracy: ±0.2MM within 100MM, ±0.3% for dimensions over 100MM.
10. Avoiding Connection Designs
WJP full-color 3D printing technology does not support part connection design due to its material properties and process limitations. This is mainly because the gaps between parts are filled with solid filling, which will greatly increase the model cost and there will be a risk of printing breakage/damage/gap, which will affect the overall quality of the model. Therefore, we recommend that users avoid connection design as much as possible during the design stage and print all models separately to ensure full-color printing effects.
