JLC3DP helps CPSdrone explore deepwater mines
2 min
During adventure to explore deepwater mines, YouTube blogger CPSdrone built a DIY submarine to try to go deep into flooded uranium mines and record the deepwater scenes with a camera. In this project, JLC3DP, as a key sponsor, provided the submarine with customized 3D printed nylon parts, which use advanced SLS technology to enhance the submarine's design durability and deepwater performance. In CPSdrone's previous waterproof tests on 3D printed objects, JLC3DP also provided bloggers with high-quality waterproof parts for testing extreme underwater pressures.

During the first attempt last year, the submarine was accidentally damaged at 129 meters due to strength problems with 3D printed parts. Subsequently, CPSdrone made key modifications to the submarine, using aluminum end caps, adding stronger motors, and combining high-pressure component support provided by the university. JLC3DP's 3D printed parts have also been upgraded, especially the improved propeller shroud , which uses WJP full-color printing technology which is not only smoother but also effectively reduces underwater resistance. The improvement of this shroud makes the submarine more durable underwater and improves the visibility of the camera.

In the latest deep dive, the team experienced many difficulties such as underwater motor entanglement and channel blockage, and finally broke through the depth of 176 meters and confirmed that the bottom of the mine was blocked by rocks, which is the deepest point detected in the mine so far. Despite this, the team plans to use this submarine for deeper underwater cave exploration in the future.

3D printing technology has shown great application potential in CPSdrone's underwater projects. 3D printed parts can not only be customized according to needs, but also can be quickly produced and replaced and upgraded in a short time. JLC3DP's highly durable 3D printing materials not only improve the water resistance and pressure resistance of the parts, allowing the submarine to operate stably in extreme environments, but also provide new solutions for the design of future underwater exploration equipment. This cooperative project undoubtedly shows the broad application prospects of 3D printing technology in deep-water exploration.

JLC3DP provides 3D printed parts to GodFinger for RX-78 Gundam model
3D printed spliced parts have shown unique advantages in the production of model figures such as Gundam. First of all, it can accurately restore complex details, especially in models with such complex structures and extremely demanding appearance, each part can achieve millimeter-level accuracy. Second, the spliced parts allow the model to be assembled in a modular manner for easy transport, display, and modification without the need for permanent gluing. In addition, 3D printed spliced parts can also......
